Solving Rural Broadband

The Broad Valley Micro Fiber Networks Inc. team began researching broadband issues in rural Delaware in mid-2013, driven by participation in the Sussex County Broadband Coalition meetings, as well as follow up one-on-one meetings with many of its members. Through detailed reports and industry data provided by these valuable partners and collaborators, a hybrid network solution was designed by Broad Valley to solve their connectivity needs. These key partners include organizations representing education, government, public utilities and enterprise sectors throughout the state.

Executives from Broad Valley have also met with, and presented to, many state and local government officials, from the staffs of Senators Coons and Carper, to Representative Carney’s staff, Secretary Kee of the Department of Agriculture, and meetings with Governor Markell. As a result of this analysis, Broad Valley has developed a state-of-the-art network solution to address the pockets of unserved and underserved residential and small business customers desperately in need of broadband services in Delaware. This comprehensive plan has been endorsed by the key partners, and resulted in letters of support written on behalf of Broad Valley’s initiative, by the Senators, Congressman and Governor.
